- AVSI (Association
of Volunteers for International Service) is a not-for-profit,

Aid to the Church in Need
For over 50 years, the Work of Pontifical Right “Aid to the
Church in Need” founded by Fr Werenfried van Straaten in 1947,
has been collecting funds in 16 countries to distribute all over
the world through 6000 projects in over 130 countries, in support
of the Church where it is persecuted, oppressed or poor, and in defense
of the rights of the person to profess his own religion by teaching
and by practice, in worship and observance of rites.
